Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of 4trips, the web app available at 4trips.app (the "Service"). By creating an account you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Edoardo Geiss, an individual based in Italy ("4trips", "we", "us"). You can contact us at edoardo.create@gmail.com.

2. The Service

4trips helps groups plan trips together: sharing availability, collecting travel preferences, suggesting and voting on destinations, building itineraries, splitting expenses, chatting, and keeping trip documents and bookings in one place.

The Service is currently free of charge. It is under active development: we may add, change or remove features, and it may occasionally be unavailable. Where possible, we'll give reasonable notice of changes that significantly affect you.

4trips is a planning tool. We are not a travel agency, tour operator or booking platform: we don't sell, book or arrange flights, accommodation or other travel services, and we are not a party to any contract you make with third parties.

3. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • The information you give us must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password confidential: you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at edoardo.create@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • Accounts are personal: one person per account, and don't share your access with others.

4. AI-powered features

Some features of the Service use artificial intelligence (AI), provided through Anthropic's Claude models: destination recommendations, itinerary generation and refinement, bad-weather alternatives, itinerary translation, chat summaries and extracting booking details from uploaded documents. In line with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), we inform you that when you use these features you receive content generated by an AI system, not by a person.

AI output is a suggestion, not advice. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or unsuitable for your group: for example regarding prices and budgets, opening hours, travel times, availability, entry or visa requirements, safety conditions, or details read from a document. Before relying on it or booking anything, check the relevant information with official and up-to-date sources (airlines, accommodation providers, venues, official travel advice).

AI output is not travel, legal, financial, medical, safety or any other professional advice. Decisions about your trip are always made by you and your group: the Service never makes them automatically.

AI features run only when a member explicitly requests them. The information needed to generate the result, which may include what other members have added to the trip, is sent to our AI provider, as described in our Privacy Policy. Don't include sensitive personal information in notes, messages or documents you use with AI features unless necessary.

To keep the Service free and fair, AI features are subject to daily usage limits per account, which we may adjust.

You may not use AI features to generate unlawful, harmful or deceptive content, or try to circumvent their safeguards or limits.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you add to the Service: preferences, messages, documents and so on ("Your Content"). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display and transmit Your Content only as needed to operate and provide the Service, including showing it to the members of your groups and trips and processing it through our service providers, such as our AI provider. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies that other trip members still rely on or that we must keep by law.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to share it. If you upload documents or add information about other people (for example fellow travellers' names on a booking), make sure you are entitled to do so.

Content you add to a group or trip is visible to its members. If you leave a group, content you have already shared may remain part of the trip's shared record.

6. Acceptable use

When using the Service you must not:

  • break the law or infringe the rights of others, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
  • post content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit or otherwise abusive;
  • upload malware or anything designed to damage or interfere with systems;
  • access other people's accounts or data without permission, or probe, test or breach the Service's security;
  • scrape the Service, access it through automated means, or overload it;
  • reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • use the Service to send spam or for unauthorised commercial purposes.

7. Expenses

The expense feature is a record-keeping tool: it calculates who owes whom based on what members enter. It does not process payments, and we're not responsible for errors in the amounts entered or for the settlement of debts between members.

8. Third-party links and affiliate partners

The Service contains links to third-party websites such as Skyscanner, Booking.com and Trainline. Some are affiliate links: if you book after clicking one, we may receive a commission, at no extra cost to you. Any booking is a contract between you and that third party, under its terms; we're not responsible for their services, prices, availability or content.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design, logo and the name "4trips", belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose, and don't transfer any other rights. You and your group may freely use the AI suggestions shown to you to plan your trips.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Account settings, or by emailing edoardo.create@gmail.com.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect other users or the Service. Except in urgent cases, we'll tell you why and give you the opportunity to respond.

We may discontinue the Service with at least 30 days' notice, giving you time to save any information you need.

11. Liability

The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its content, in particular AI output, is accurate or suitable for your purposes.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: losses resulting from relying on AI suggestions or other content without checking them; bookings, payments or disputes with third parties or between group members; loss of content (keep your own copies of important documents); or indirect or unforeseeable losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence (Art. 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, nor does it affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Privacy

How we process personal data, including for AI features and for analytics with PostHog, which only happens with your consent, is explained in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. We'll notify you of material changes in the app or by email at least 15 days before they take effect, unless the change is required by law or urgently needed for security. If you don't agree, you can close your account before the changes take effect; if you keep using the Service afterwards, the new Terms apply. Where required by law, we'll ask you to accept them explicitly.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you can bring proceedings before the courts of the place where you live; where the Italian Consumer Code applies, the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile has jurisdiction.

Before going to court, please contact us at edoardo.create@gmail.com: we'll try to resolve the issue amicably.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force. Not enforcing a provision doesn't mean we waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a new operator of the Service after informing you, provided your rights are not reduced. These Terms are available in English, Italian and German.
